I have done alot of searching and reading about air box mods, exhaust mods, fuel controllers and air fuel ratios but have yet to see this discussed. it is my understanding and correct me if i'm wrong that on a bone stock apex the ecu would add or subtract fuel depending on the outside air temperature so that the machine would not run too rich or too lean. example; i would imagine the sled would use slightly more fuel on a -20c day than say on a +2c day. so my question is when adding a fuel controller such as a hauck or PC3 will the ecu still compensate and adjust accordingly for changes in outside air temperature? or are you now locked in permanently to the values you have set in your fuel controller? i have a ram air lid, excell exhaust and PC3, i just purchased an AEM AFR gauge in order to dial the sled in with the PC3. i just want to know if i go out and dial the sled in using the AFR gauge on say a -20c day will the ecu compensate and the sled still be dialed in if the temperature becomes much warmer like +2c ? or would i have to create another map for warm days versus cold days? also running a ram air lid and excell exhaust would i have to run premium fuel at all? i do not have an ignition module on the PC3 so I am not messing with the timing at all just the fuel map. hope someone can shed some light on this. Thanks

It will compensate......the only reason you need the controller is cause you are making the sled breath better than stock.....more air = more fuel.

What air box mods are you running? If I ran stock gutted exhaust and rockerdan's air box mod how would I go about making a map with a pcIII? Would Allan Ulmer be able to do this?

i am running k&n filters with a cut airbox lid attached to the hood. to make a pc3 map you have to connect a laptop to it and use the software provided. you would also want an air fuel gauge on the sled so you know where to add or subtract fuel.
