I am getting a ignition module to go with my pc3usb that I already have installed on my apex. I'm not sure how to use this ignition module. does it need to be programed? do I need to download another software program on my laptop?
and if I do need to program it would there be anyone who could send me a map or guide me trough this?
Here is a list of my current mods.
-ulmers clutch kit
-ram air lid
-pc3 ulmers air box map.

Do not be overly concerned about adding the ignition box. Very simple and plugs directly into the pc3 usb. No additional software needed. The only thing about the software is that it will NOT show you any timing map cells unless it detects the ignition box. The box comes with empty cells, meaning no change in timing, unless it was preloaded. You program it the same way as the fuel controller.
You have the same mods that I started off with. I would think Ulmer has a map for that as well.

Not necessarily. You can plug in whatever values you like. But, its best to have timing numbers from somebody who has actually tested and verified that they work.So I will need to install a mapnf0r my timing
Giving an engine too much timing can be dangerous in some situations.
I haven't looked at mine in a few months. Not sure if I added any timing to mine below 100% throttle.
IMO the advanced timing is only worth a few hp at best. Where the value of adjustable timing lies is for guys that have power adders on their sleds.
On my machine, additional timing gave me a few hundred more rpm at the top of the rpm curve. But I also have a ported head to help extend my rev-range.
Its probably not something you will FEEL.
