Kiss...keep. it. simple. stupid. Pick a tuner and go with their recommendations. Very hard to go wrong.
I've called my guy, told him....
Me: I want to run this tune, what do I need?
Him: this!
Me: send it...
Me: I want this muffler, what do I need to make it work?
Him: nothing, you're good to good.
Me: cool, thanks!
This whole thing is being blown way put of Proportion....Poor f@#$% guy doesn't know which way is up? Haha...

I don't think so Doc, Too many guys out there with little to no experience should heed these words of advice. Even if they think things are just hunky dory the tape will disagree. Look at the logs, they don't lie

Then we at least need reread the guys original post. He demands closed loop With an "!" which negates PEFI immediately. Now I can further read his original post, but so can we. And I don't think we need to talk about the past and what happened 15 years ago, or 5yrs ago, For that matter. For this strapping young lad Is either going to go with turbo dynamics or hurricane.I don't think so Doc, Too many guys out there with little to no experience should head these words of advice. Even if they think things are just hunky dory the tape will disagree. Look at the logs, they don't lie
So what he needs to do is either hear the pros and cons of each 1 of these tuners and/or go directly to the source.
K.i.s.s.
Btw.... I make a bet $$$ he's got plenty of experience. Lol. This isn't his 1st rodeo.... Bet?!?!

That may be so, but this is all good information and as we all know if we stick to the OP we would lose valuable information along the way. There is just too much knowledge and experience to disregard in this forum. While us old senile bastards might stray from the OP we always seem to make valid points and interject some priceless information along the way. Comm'on Doc, don't fight it, just be thankful guys provide invaluable knowledge that comes with experience. It saves allot of people F'n around and making the same mistakes along the way. This is the beauty of this site....embrace it, don't fight it. We're here to help!

He asked about the 3 so he's hearing about the 3. PEFI doesnt offer closed loop so maybe it rules it out 100% for him or maybe they have something he likes and he's gonna research more. Truth is until a few years ago none of us had closed loop and many still dont. Its not life changing. If your inline with hardware requirements its biggest advantage is warm weather riding and at that point your riding in mash potato snow so who cares if your running rich. If your straying out of line with hardware requirements it has more advantages. PEFI customers can add an adjustable fpr and do the same thing if they choose. You can keep it simple all you want. Doesnt mean you cant have issues. Making people understand that only helps their success. You know how many people out there have no clue there sled pulls timing every single time they get on the throttle and they have no clue. Think their golden because they dont see a knock light. Im sure theres just as many running around with high afrs and the only thing saving them for the time being is the fact they never held it wfo long. Information is not blowing stuff out of proportion wether you agree with it or not. Information can make your experience with a tuned sled a good one rather than a bad one and help someone decide the direction they want to go. If you want K.I.S.S then Keep It Stock Stupid!
I'll will ad to that, as some of us here know, that while i NEVER saw DETO flash on my iPad if I looked at my logs I could clearly see that it should have and there are MANY that could say the same. It's all about understanding the conditions and being prepared with the components that are meant for the tune and being able to adapt to the tunes with components that you have added. Without this knowledge you are putting yourself at risk for catastrophic failure plain and simple

Justinator, The op wants to know which tuner can fulfill his needs, plain & simple.
And we can't even answer his direct question without going into fables of blown motors and stories of woe from yesteryear.
And then you convince yourself he has no idea what's going on, yet it's his second build and he's coming off a boost. Oh by the way he lives right down the road from "Trail leader" hahahaha.... Please, keep educating him.
BTW, I stated I call my tuner for any upgrades or changes. That's good advice no matter what he decides to do

I only have experience with one tuner, but have a very good understanding what it takes to make these sleds run efficiently. If the OP should need any advice or anybody else for that matter they are more than welcome to reach out to me via PM. I think It's great when guys reach out to this forum for advice because it's not only for their own good , but it will help future posters in their process. After all, If they knew all there is to know they wouldn't be on here asking questions right?

The only thing that is hard for me to completely wrap my arms around is "Max effort on quite muffler" can you please explain?Hi guys going to do a 998 Build again (2023 SRX) with closed loop!!! So awesome and I want max power on pump gas! Are all the tunes pretty even from TD, Hurricane & Precision EFI. I really would like to stick with one company. What's max HP you guys are seeing on 93 and all the bolt ons (quite Muffler) including the header and possibly adding Boostane that's working so well on my 850 Boost.
Thanks Skydog.
yes, because when we say full build we all know there is more to be had on pump gas but the "quiet muffler" is subjectiveThe only thing that is hard for me to completely wrap my arms around is "Max effort on quite muffler" can you please explain?

The post is full of info that may or may not help his decision and he will not be the only person to view this thread searching for info.I never once stated or attempted to convince myself he had no idea whats going on or was trying to educate him. Yes this thread like many may have steered of course a bit from what he was specifically looking for but its still got good info. Ive already spoke to the OP in messages sharing what has been my experience BTW. But leave it to The Master Doc himself to insert words in others mouths and fill another thread with useless posts trying to discredit all the good points that have been made just like all the others threads about datalogging and adjustable fprs etc. I dont know if you just need to hear yourself talk or what your issue is but christ its exhausting. If youd listen more and try to understand the good info that gets shared you might actually end up knowing as much as you think you already know.Justinator, The op wants to know which tuner can fulfill his needs, plain & simple.

Hmmm . Sorry, boss. You, personally never talked about 5yrs ago & blown motors. But somehow you got hurt and felt it best to lash out at me.The post is full of info that may or may not help his decision and he will not be the only person to view this thread searching for info.I never once stated or attempted to convince myself he had no idea whats going on or was trying to educate him. I said, the OP has some background with a 998t build and a boost. Not sure how I was trying to McMaster this situation. Just trying to help.
Carry on.

I concur, Steve. This is the piece of the puzzle, I didn't get quite enough information on. Hmmm. In fact, it also helps to decide the build and power level, overall.yes, because when we say full build we all know there is more to be had on pump gas but the "quiet muffler" is subjective
