Probably not the place for this but i thought maybe someone here also owns a Vmax and maybe swaped the 121 skid from their Nytro into it. I Installed a XTX skid in my 08 nytro , now i have the 121 skid lying around. Would like to know if anyone has put these in a vmax. I assume it should fit with minor adjustments, but would it be to much travel for the vmax chassis. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just installed a Polaris extra 10 in a 2000 sx-r 700. Pretty simple once you have the measurements.
You should be able to measure to the stock holes on your fx nytro. You need the distance from the driveshaft to the center of the holes, front and back. And then measure down from the inside of the tunnel. Top of tunnel straight down to center of holes. That should get you extremely close.

But also, I do think it would be a little too tall for the vmax chassis. They sit pretty low. Which is why we decided to go with a extra ten suspension, they sit low also, but perform very well.
I can't say how well it worked, cause I haven't ridden it yet. BUT I predict its gonna work great!

Thanks for your help. I may give it a try. I wonder what the weight difference is between the vmax skid and the Nytro ?

I think it is worth doing. You'll go from 6" of travel to around 9" of vertical travel with the Nytro skid.
What year V max? I've got a 95 in my shop along with my RTX so if you need any measurements let me know.

Does your Nytro suspension have both front and rear limiter straps? If it does, you could shorten them a few holes so the travel isn't too great.

You can do lower it with the straps but you'll it will ride stiff since you increase the preload.

Picked up a 1998 vmax 700 this week, believe it or not this sled has Simmons pipes and bender clutch kit and i onlytpaid 150 bucks for the running sled. it's gonna be way worth it to try and install the 121 nytro skid. Gonna be looking for many parts throughout this build as it's not a showroom sled at this time ha ha.

If you put the nytro skid in the 1998, you're probably gonna need to find a long travel front suspension for it to even it out a little. Those sleds only have like 8" of travel.
Did you get the Ohlins front shocks?
