FX GT OR SPORT

FX - better suspension, reverse - good ditch riding fun machine
GT - lower, softer suspension, reverse - meant for trails, more wind protection
Base - cheaper shocks, no reverse, no wind protection - good entry level

My guess is if it is for your wife go with the GT. A little more stable and better wind protection

Tell your dealer you want the GT windshield on a FX. If he is realy good you can likely talk him into the wind deflectors also. If not send an e-mail to Port Yamaha and they will fix you up with them for less than $100 shipping in. You get the shocks, hooked handle bar, gearing is a little lower but hell your going to ride it, not your wife. LOL

The FX is more the rough trail/ditchabanger Phazer. It has the remove res clicker shocks, handguards and low windshield.
The GT is more of the trail rider's Phazer. It has a lower ride height and softer suspension, plus it has a big windshield and knee wind deflectors.
The base (Im guessing thats what you mean by "sport") is the value model. It doesnt have a windshield, handguards, knee wind deflectors or reverse, plus it doesnt have fancy shocks. This is to keep the price down.

Well how does your wife ride.I know some girls that ride harder than most guys.So if she's hard rider get the fx if she a slow joy rider on flat trails get the gt.
