So I'm looking at adding the FX Nytro XTX to my collection. I already have a touring sled & truly love it but looking for a crossover now.

My dealer has a brand new 2011 XTX in stock that is willing to part ways with it at a very enticing price. He also has a 2013.

So this got me thinking about differences between the two year sleds & as you guys know there truly isn't much difference. The differences I seen were ski type, rear travel (0.7") & that's it. Price points on two models are night & day.

Just wanted to get your thoughts as owners?

I agree. If the differences in models were significant then I wouldn't have an issue spending the extra cash, but it's been such a solid design for many years , in this case it's a price choice for sure.

the 2011 has better front shocks (fully adjustable) and probably cheaper too.

There's a $2000 difference, he said it' a cash only deal with his only 2011, he wants it gone. His sled business has suffered due to years of limited snow in his area so he's considering eliminating that portion of the business. I agree with better shocks as well. I've ridden the RTX on many occasions, I'm riding an XTX this weekend & will make my decision then. It's a great sled & I'm looking forward to hopefully having a selection of sleds to choose from.

2k will get you alot of goodies.... its all about the little things as far as set-up with the nytro xtx. do some reading and there are alot of free/very cheap things that make it alot nicer.

One thing to consider would be resale. If you're one for flipping your sleds every year or two then you might lose in the long run. Might come out in the wash too If everything went perfect. If it were me I'd take the 11 as I tend to keep my stuff for a while and that argument would disapear over time.

I sure like my 1 3/4" track. Does the 13 have that? And I have MTX skis on mine also. World of difference in the deep. With better skis, deeper track, on the 13 and 2 years newer, its pretty much a wash at 2k imo. At least with Canadian pricing of aftermarket goodies.

TUNER SKI AND POSS. 1.75 TRACK ALSO THE HAND AND THUMB WARMERS ARE ON 2 SWITCHES LIKE BEFORE AND THE 11 WOULD HAVE ONLY 1 SWITCH ,,BUT YOU GET ADJUSTSBLE SHOCKS ON 11... WHAT WOULD HE BE ASKING FOR BOTH ????
