FX Nytro's win the Cain's Quest !!!

is it me or is there a big bumper wrapped around that nytro??

Yes, yes there is. I would say there was a number of uses, hitting a small tree is safer when you have a bumper to take the impact, also when you are stuck in chest deep snow its always easier to get the sled out when you have something to hold onto.

Yes they were on Nytro's.

John and Gerard have become good friends of ours and congrats to them. They made a gutsy move based on who was left in the race and since they were 4 hours behind they had to do something if they wanted to win. It worked.

Congrats to them!!

Team Maine = # 1

Yeh we made it home. It was more Dangerous then running the rivers at seal lake. Crazy F____men driving there tractor trailers. Could you extend my appreciation to Your Team at your Banquett for being there for us at our (photo finish). After all we went thru to finish (under tow) it ment the world to us. For that I will refrain from discussing the true meaning of the letters ( XP). Wow what a support Team. Too bad we have to race against them next year...

LUCKY # 7

I hope some of the guys that were there can chime in and tell us how the race unfolded. I haven't been able to find much commentary on it. Way to go to everyone who participated!

Team 8 made us proud

Hey Guys and (Penny)

I guess everyone knows that Team 8 Won the Cains Quest Challange hands down with over an hour to spare. These crazy Guys from Lab. West did it now for the second time and I am so proud to have had a chance to race and become friends with them. I told Gerrard when I first met him that he was a legend in Ontario refering to the Snow Goer ultimate ride guide by Craig Nicolson but I soon became aware that Johnny Effort is also one amazing person. I am indebted to him for weilding the hitch back on our race trailer upon our arrival as well as numerous other social functions we attended as friends. When the going got rough all the other front line racers took refuge from the extreme cold -45c and then you can add what ever windchill you would like to that at speeds in excess of 1__kph. These boys stayed at the fuel and ran one crazy route to take the lead for themselves and every Yamaha fan that exists. What an intro for a nytro that boasts 144. Good job Boys. You are # 1

For those of you that want stories this race was covered by the best film crew going. It will be feature a number of times on snowmobiler television and a DVD will be offered for sale upon completeion. STV did such a great job filming this race that I would recomend you refrain from allowing your wives or mothers view this footage if you ever plan on taking The Cains Quest Challange. It could be very extreme and if isn't then Mark Lang is painting a pretty picture of what has been deemed the toughest race going.

Sincerly Phat Bstard

The temps during the night sure did drop thats for sure, it has warmed up for now but atm over the last 24 hours or so the wind has been at 60kph and have gotten about 30cm of snow, I say its a good thing its only -10c out. I'm thinking I should drop over the the shop and talk to John and hear some of the interesting stories from this years race, only problem is I'm sure he will try to end up making me buy a Nytro haha.

I wish I wasn't dieing with the flu during the race, would have been cool to meet up with some fellow TYer's.

If you want some good reading about the race froom people that were posting updates from lab hit the team maine racing site and click on the link on the front page to the sledmaine forums

www.teammaineracing.net

Team Maine raced in it for the 2nd st8 year and finished in the top 5 again.

This is not a race for the faint of heart. Phat Bastart proved he had the heart to finish.

I will also say that I have traveled to many places and the people of Labrador are top notch. It gets tougher when we leave lab knowing we are leaving many friends behind.

got 2 emails from lab and talked to 2 buddies from lab by phone, Milley and Bingle. We cant wait for next year
