Comparing the Fx & Gt for use on farmland, tight trails, ruts, steep hills, small creek crossing which suspension/sled would be better suited for a 200+lb rider ? Thanks

Forgot I am a non agressive rider.

FX.Unless you are cruising groomed smooth trails.Nonrebuildable shocks on Phazers lead to many suspension failures. Then again the FX shock need revalving/replacement.So either way its costly since you either have to replace the shocks on GT or revalve shock on FX when really the best option is to get aftermarket shocks.

My FX has non-rebuildables? I thought I was supposed to have the GYTR clickers. Not too concerned about the rear shocks, since i'm putting an M10 in the back.

Re-valving my shocks with the extra res runs about $50 each,
$40 to re-build after that.

Did I miss something here? Why would you put an M10 in a Phazer?

Other than the link issues that Yamaha took care of on my FX last spring, that rear skid has worked really well for this 230lb rider. I would still put an M10 in my old SRX, but I would never consider that skid to be an upgrade from the Phazer skid.

What did I miss? An M10 with Fox shocks?

Just curious.

I'm selling my SX but taking the M10 out and putting it in my Phazer. None of the shocks on my Phazer are rebuildables. I had the Fox shocks in the M10 rebuilt last year, and everything is being powdercoated. If you take the the time to look at FAST's website, the Fox remote-reservoir rear shock thats in my M10 is listed in there parts store. For some reason the front is not listed. I don't understand how this skid could NOT be an upgrade to the base Phazer skid. If the stock Phazer skid could absorb half the bumps the way my M10 did in the SX, then I might have left it in there. To each his own, i guess.

I had a M10 SkiDoo.While the M10 worked great I constantly had to adjust it to the conditions.Stiff it worked great in big stuff but stunk in small stuff.Soft it was great in small but bottomed in big.If setup in between it was not great at anything compared to Phazer skid.Maybe the adjust on fly air M10 would fit the bill since adjustment can be done on fly but if not I would say proper Phazer skid is better because it works well in everything without constantly adjusting it.

I'm going from non-adjustable/rebuildable shocks on the Phazer skid to a fully adjustable/rebuildable skid which has been a industry benchmark for well over a decade. When I pulled the stock skid after 2400mi, I was as unimpressed with the quality of some of the components as I was with the front suspension. I've read quite a few posts on here about people wanting to upgrade their base Phazer shocks with Doo shocks, and lot's of complaints of premature hyfax wear, something i've never had a problem with on the M10. Which also means I won't need to buy Yamaha's low-snow wheel kit which seems to be of questionable quality as well. I'll be sure and post a report on how my Phazer rides with the M10. Thanks for your input!

Some pretty good points there. Can't argue too much about that.
Is it a 14" designed skid? How would that work?

FAST says it fits fine. The wheels on the stock skid are right on the edge of the track, so I would think it would be the same with the M10.

Is good points but so are my points.I broke the front arm on the M10 because I hit some unexpexted moguls and after that just lived with stiffer setting.I will say that the M10 was the first skid I had that never ever kicked up in backend. But there is alot of skids that dont do that now including my modded Phazer skid.Jeffz the biggest concern you should have is how it will effect handling. If the balance is made worse than what it is already I cant imagine the issues you will face.I give you credit for trying it though.Good luck.
