G8 Gauge on a Riot 9000

I just talked to Tom at Arctic Adventures. $1600 for the whole kit, plug and play.
I don't see why it wouldn't work with the Yamaha, except you may see Arctic Cat on the display
He also said you cant change tunes through the display.

They gotta come up with a dash flash for this display

Pretty slick way to update our 13yo gage cluster. Does it show boost, AFR's, IAT's, etc...

If you have a Hurricane/TD (GAP platform) tune and have the flasher on-board while running, you can see all the live date you'd ever want on your phone or an iPad if you mount that on the dash or the handlebar in front of you. On top of that, if you activate the logging function, you can go back and see all the details of the entire ride too. Imagine that... I think most people already own a iPhone or an android type phone. Just put it in a weatherproof motorcycle or bike case and put a Qi charger in there to keep it charged and warm.

I guess I'm spoiled as I run my phone on the handlebar like this for the live data and additional information I want. I don't even bother looking at the stock dash other than for the trip meter and fuel gauge.

I sure don't need a different $1600 gauge, and if I wanted maps, I throw an old GPS loaded with trail maps on the dash for that.

I hear you on the price. The NS-1, while not as nice looking and GPS not as good, was less than half.

The only problem with those units, and I have one on the bench loaded with GPS Trailmaster maps, is that I cant see those smaller Garmin units!!!
I have tried!!! I started with glasses a few years back and struggle to find something to wear under my helmet. OLDNESS!!!

That is what allot of us have been doing Mike and I think it does work fine, but I feel this will simplify things by using just one device for everything. I lack the ability to gain easy access to adjust my shocks on the fly since I replaced my dash cluster with an iPad.

I spoke with Garmin directly and you WILL be able to download APK files (apps) to the Artic Cat branded Garmin Tread device meaning you could open the GAP app on the screen and anything available in the App store for that matter.

I questioned Garmin about swapping out the Tread (8in.) with the larger XL Overland (10in.) Garmin unit and was told there are physical cables connected to the Tread that don't exist on the larger units.
If anybody is interested in downloading apps I highly recommend watching this video on how to do so:

P.S. I don't think the price is outrageous considering the non branded Tread is $999 and there is hardware that accompanies the unit.

Correction.....This is the Tread SXS version which has an 8inch screen

I should get a hold of them and see if I can get a family discount. Same last name but no relation. LOL

I think ultimately until Garmin runs out an update specifically for the 998 models this device isn't going to have full functionality as far as iQs and maybe some othe minor details considering the software was written for the 858.

So it sounds like you can install the gap app to this new gauge which would allow you to take advantage of the features of gap. Logging and monitoring without needing a smart phone? I assume you would still need a flasher? Would you be able to change tunes from this gauge?

If someone would add the simple data the turbo sleds are looking for in a plug & play format, I can see them selling literally 100's of these overnight.
