Garmin G8 changing background color?

Found a great deal on a Garmin G8 and mount for my Winder SRX. Has anyone that installed one on a Winder figured out how to change the background from green to blue??? I am told it can be done but you run the risk of bricking the unit.

Mills, if you don't mind me asking who you got it from? Been looking just haven't found the right deal yet. Changing the background color would be awesome.

I have not purchased anything yet, just want to get all the info I can on the good/bad/ugly of installing one before I do. The company I found the deal with is QCC3D. Their Tech/Salesman has been very helpful and quick to respond via FB Messenger.

That is the company I have been talking to. He did say it is possible to change the background color through a admin screen through the "Settings" but, he said there is a significant chance that changing the color would "brick" the unit. I believe that means it will permanently lock the unit into a never-ending loop and make it unusable.

Over the weekend I made some calls inquiring about the G8, spoke with Tom at Arctic Adventures, he was very helpful in educating me on the difference between a basic G8 and a premium G8. They didn't have any basic units in stock, and I don't want the premium model but, he did tell me that Arctic cat will be coming out with a kit next season for the procross chassis as its now available on the 2027 Thundercat's. I found a dealer locally that had a basic G8 and was told by them as well that Arctic cat will be releasing the G8 for our procross sleds as a kit. I'm thinking a new cowl for the G8 and everything will work properly with the display. There are a couple of hiccups currently with this mod and maybe with this new updated kit they will allow us Yamaha guys to select a background color.....can only hope.
