Awhile back I got a nuvi and put the snowmobile maps on it. Mounted it to the cat dash caddy and I'm looking for the wiring diagram on now to get it working with a standard USB output.

For some reason Garmin changes the cord around with the data line. If I run a strait micro USB cable to the Garmin it won't work. Garmin has some cable standard that requires their charger.

I have a USB C cable and would like to use that as I can charge my phone and run the maps at the same time. Does anyone know how to require and resolder the cables?

Looks like the 60lm.

Just google charge only cord for your model. Easy to find on amazon. I’ve done this with a bunch of Garmin. The charge/data cord will not work.

A charging cord and a power cord are different. A charging cord USB type is 5v, a power cord is 12v. To get it to run you will likely need a power cord.

I just assumed he was running the cord to a 12v adapter with usb c end plugged into the 12v plug on sled? That way he can interchange. The adapter will already be stepped town to 5v also. Very important to those Garmin. Garmin dives need to be stepped down or will blow them up.

Garmin devices are very finicky with power cords. I always have a spare for this reason. Sounds like an older device if it's micro USB as they have gone to USB C. Just make sure your at 5v max with a 3 amp fuse. You should be able to get a USB C to USB micro converter on the cheap.
