I have a zumo 550 that I use on my motorcycle and would like to install this on my snowmobile.
Has any one done this and/or experienced any are issues

Thanks
Jim

should be fine except for one major possible problem.

I looked at the downloaded Zumo manual on the garmin site and it shows a high min temp like 20-25F. Most of the other Garmins show like 5F minimum.

Dont know if it is a misprint or not.

I have been using my Zumo 550 on my snowmobile for a month now.
I like it and no problems so far.

I was also conserned with the temp range but I have been using it in -15C. Mayby it handles lower temp because it´s always ON when in the cradle.

I have a swedish topo map and all snowmobile trails in Sweden, northen Finland and even some parts of Russia loaded.

One nice feature of the trail map is that autorouting work just like in car navigation. ;)! You will get the distance via the trails

Great news, I thought the Zumo was pretty impressive otherwise, just the temp rating freaked me out.

Pretty impressive on the Swedish (& Russian) Maps.

I got to download upper WI and the UP

Garmin response to my question

Thank you for contacting Garmin International.

The zumo 550 has a low temperature tolerance of -0C. If the zumo becomes
colder than this temperature for an extended period of time, the unit
may become damaged and inoperable.

I have a Zumo 550 and have run it on the bike and car as well as the sled in as low as -20F with no issues at all. I do run sled power to it due to the internal battery not lasting well in the cold but it otherwise works well. I have Ny trail maps on it and love it. Garmins official positon is very conservative and I understand why, but their quality exceeds expectations. Good Luck!!

zumo

Brought mine at Christmas and have it installed on my sled using the sled for power. Power it all the time that it is exposed to the elements and you won't have any problems. Had mine in temps of 4 degrees F, with no ill effects. Load V-Maps Michigan snowmobile and orv maps to the SD card, couldn't be any better. Will be installing it on my honda GoldWing and my 4X4 honda rincon for the summer. This GPS  rocks
