my dealer said the phaser will only get 100 miles to the tank. thats only about 12 miles per gallon. that doesn't seem very fuel efficent. anyone here anything different?

also, you have to run 91 octane or better to get the full 80 h.p.

Sounds like BS to me. I dont think anyone knows for certain.
Its really gonna depend how you ride though. If you run wide-open all the time, it might only get 12 mpg. If you are cruising at a steady speed ranging from 30-50 mph, it might pull 20 mpg.

well, with only 80 hp it may be hard not to ride with wide open throttle. 20 mpg, i don't see that happening even though it would be nice

Do you think they would only put in a 8.1 gallon tank if it only got 12mpg??
I think not.. Im betting it gets in the 16-18mpg or more range..
Once the snow flys we will know for sure..

Look at the dyno chart, that engine has a wide powerband and makes a lot of torque in the 6,000-8,000 rpm range.TIMSMXZ said:well, with only 80 hp it may be hard not to ride with wide open throttle. 20 mpg, i don't see that happening even though it would be nice
One nice thing about a 4-stroke is that you dont have to scream it all the time to make power.

The reps said that under the same riding conditions the Phazer gets the same mileage as the Vector so my guess is you should see 17mpg.

I think they are considering a reserve level with that statement. Have you noticed that there are a lot of miles on E with the rest of these 4strokes. I bet the actual distance to empty is 150 mi for an average trail cruising day.

I'm almost sure it will be as good as all the other 4 strokes on fuel. I would think 14 to 16 riding hard and 18 riding nice.
