$78 on ebaySounds same as ultimax! But just like Knapp, have sled pretty much dialed in and unless they are priced a lot lower than xs825, not going to mess with clutching all over again.

Ultimax xs825 with the Dalton black orange secondary and black green primary 8700 rpm all day on a stock machine.
Can't kill that belt. Few half mile long 110 mph runs with a new oil leak and slipping and still couldn't explode it. Last year I blew through two of the gates carbon belts within 200 miles each. The regular gates belts you just about look at and they shred on the sidewinder. I'm not knocking Gates that's all I run on my Polaris sportsman 1000 but just never had luck with them on the Sidewinder.

Myself and 2 of my friends had terrible experience with Gates Carbon Fiber. 280HP tunes. Went through 11 belts in a 4 day trip. Would shred at will. IMO, carbon fiber cannot stand the punishment the 998 puts out. Carbon fiber is good at continuous non-shock load but with high shock, instantly variable load, they will fail in very short order.
Timken XS for us. Have not had a single failure in over 4500 mile on 3 sleds. All 280 HP.

The redline isnt carbon fiber, its aramid fiber cord which is the same cord that is used in the timken xs series of belts.

Just found this out with ultimax belts, with their new warranty, take picture of blown belt, send it to them and they will send you a new belt! Sweet! All within 1 year of purchase, of course, but super simple.

Unfortunately, they will not warranty any more for the season, as they are all out.

What were you running for belt previous to the redline? Any change in rpm vs the previous belt once broken in? Im hearing conflicting results, some say it lowers rpm like the ultimax and others say it runs similiar rpms to 8JP.I bought 2 from my friends at thunder products clutching and site sponsor's, broke both of them in and loving them so far, lots of miles and wide open pulls

You don't wash the Ultimax XS or the Gates Redline belts at all. Clean the clutches, Heat cycle two-three times in about 20 miles of easy use up and down the clutches and away you go after that.
An important thing with both of these brand of belts is not to bend backwards, put in a belt holder or bend them or twist them abnormaly at all.
