Looking for a set of gauntlet or handle bar muffs just to sheild the wind on those extra cold days. Any one have any experience with these. What are they like. Also, What is the width of the yamaha mountain ski. I am looking for more floatation in the powder. Do the mountain skis handle different on the trails than the standard yamaha ski.

The mountian skis are 7" wide. There is better flotation with them. I notice right away when i'm driving some one else's sled with stock skis. They handle better than the stock. I think its due to the deeper keel they have.
Add Snowtrackers and you have one of the best combos that I have found on these sleds.

I bought a set of Yamaha gauntlets my girlfriends apex and a set for my attack and used them all last week in subzero temps and they worked out very well. The openings are plenty big enough ,so putting your hands back in them is no problem. And we wear a wrist mirrors too.

try coldguards.com i have some but didnt put them on yet . they basically block the wind

We use Katadin Wire opening gauntlets. The wire opening makes it easy for in and out hand use. Also they slide on easy and off with the velcro and wire combo.

X3! I started a thread not too long ago about gauntlets and those are what I bought. Inexpensive, easy to remove, fold and store. ;)!

Thanks for the replies guys. Looks like there are a few options for good gauntlets and I guess it all boils down to personal preference. As for the mountain skis, it looks like I will be needing, or should I say wanting them sooner. Just got back from a 240 mile ride yesterday and found some unbelievable powder and the stock skis on my poor rx1 were pretty much at a 60 degree angle and plowing snow most of the time.
