Looking for some feedback on the bolt on hand guards that have mirrors attached to the ends! Looking to take care of 2 issues with one attachment! Got a new Apex and on those Extremely cold days the Gauntlets go on, (Do these bolt on Hand Guards eliminate the need for Gauntlets?) If so any recommendations on a specific brand that you can attach mirrors to the end of them?
Thanks
Thanks
Gauntlets will be warmer than the handguards but I find it hard too drive with gauntlets. They are soooo restricting.
I use the PowerMadd handguards with mirrors ( mainly for the mirrors) along with YamaHeaters. This setup works good til about -25c (-13f) then I switch to my FXR Claw gloves.
The handguards did help a little with the poor heat problem that these older Yamaha models have but not enough. Yamaheaters made a world of difference.
I find that the newer Apex has good heaters. Gloves make a bigger difference. Thin underside/palm and thick outside work the best for me.
With the thin underside you can get the heat from the bars to your hands and the thick topside helps keep the wind off and the heat in.
My buddy has a 2012 Apex. He uses a very expensive multi layer glove. At -15c (5f) he was freezing his hands.
We switched sleds so he could warm up his hands on my nuclear Yamaheaters. I also stripped one layer out of his gloves/mitts.
His hands finally warmed up after about 20 minutes of driving with my warmers on green light high ( I was at medium or so when I was driving my sled).
He enjoyed the warmth so much that he didn't want to give my sled up so I ended up driving his sled for the last 100 miles.
I had no problem keeping my hands warm on his sled. I kept his bars around medium or so and there was lots of heat.

Thanks Steiner I'm going to check out the Power Madd units. One thing for sure is the hand warmers on this new Apex are much better than the 04 Warrior I have.

I was looking at Power Madd's webpage and they recommend 6.5" of clearance between the bars and the windshield. Well I have more than this when the bars are straight, but when I turn them full left or right it reduces to 3.5"! Not looking good for the newer Apex

No mirrors, but better than the restrictive gauntlets and those worthless plastic guards.

I see they only list yellow sleds in their fitment guide.

Not sure where your looking, but I see plenty of Yamaha's there!

Looks like most of the Yamahas are Med. fitment. Not all models listed either. All you have to do is some measuring to see what size you need, not very hard to figure out with their directions if your model is not listed.

gonna get me a set for next year. I just didn't like the bulk of the regular gauntlets available, or I would have had some a long time ago, these seemed to have addressed that issue... looks good.

Took my gauntlets into a lady that sews.
Cut them short right at the wrist and hemmed them
back up.
Work awesome. I only wear thin garden gloves and
I have never had to turn my heaters past the 3rd line.
Many times I don't even turn them on.

I have the Power Madd hand guards with the optional mirrors. I also bought the Power Madd gauntlets that fit over the hand guards but I have to remove the mirrors to install the gauntlets. Someone here once said that they cut a slit in the gauntlet so that they could keep the mirrors installed with the gauntlets. However I have not needed the gauntlets since installing the Yamaheater with boost. On high (red LED) my gloves literally will start to melt and stick to the grips!
