Anyone try 23/38 gears with 8 tooth drvers?
Will those gears work with the stock chain?

03 RX-1 159" track 8 tooth anti rachet drivers
14lbs to 19lbs of boost.

is that gearing up to much?

Any thoughts would be great.

According to the stock Yamaha specs the 23/38 gears take a 70L chain which is what goes with the stock mountain gears, Ken.

Wouldn't that be gearing down from 21/40,,,
40/21=1.90ratio
38/23=1.65ratio
I thought this was like rear rears on cars, such as 411's was gearing down, maybe I've got it wrong. A 1.90 ratio I believe will have let top end, but will get there faster. I'm running 25/38 or 1.52 ratio, but then I'm not running up mountains either. Correct me if I'm wrong guys.

Check out his MPH Calculator
http://www.snowmobileworld.com/tools/index.php

RPM: 10700
Clutch Gear reduction: 1.1935
Clutch Ratio: 1.00
Top Sprocket: 23
Bottom Sprocket: 38
CALCULATED MPH 103.59mph

STOCK
Top Sprocket: 21
Bottom Sprocket: 40
CALCULATED MPH: 89.86mph

Top Sprocket: 40
Bottom Sprocket: 21
CALCULATED MPH: 326.01mph

Did I do it wrong? I think I put the #'s in correct because I don't think the stock sled was geared to do 326.01mph. If so we better get to working on these things! Nobody has them tuned in yet, Just Kidding!
If I am wrong here please let me know before I spend the money on the new gears.
Thanks
