I recently purchased about 80 snowmobile belts, turned out to mostly be polaris and ac belts..... had to kinda buy them quick or loose out on the deal. So here's the question.....
For my 4 strokeYamaha, I'm only gonna use oem tammy belts.
But what about for the lower hp fan sleds, indy light 340 formula sl etc.
The 91 indy lite the kids tool around on calls for a hp3027 42 1/2" 1 3/8...
I have a couple max 1089 belts 42 3/4 x 1 3/16.
What about a 340 puma which calls for a 43 5/8 x 1 3/8
I have a couple 43 1/2 x 1 3/8 laying around now....
Would it be worth trying, or atleast good enough for a get you home belt? Or an I asking to cause other problems.
I have been running a dayco max 1032 43 3/8 x 1.5 on my 1996 formula sl, mainly because that is what was on it when I bought it.
Mfg supply lists the hpx 5003 43 1/4 x 13/8
But also the gates 39g4266 as replacing the ski doo 414-8607-00 and gives 43.88 x 1.41 as the measurement
I dont need top performance but do not want to cause damage either.
So what's your take on belt sizes ok to go a little longer? Shorter? Thicker? Thinner?
If this is in the wrong category let me know, thanks in advance.
