I just purchased a 2006 Vector GT and I have ridden the 2005, and wondered if anyone put a larger gear on the top in the chaincase to get some more top end out of it seeing as it has tons of bottom end. I used to ride a 2004 Polaris XC 600, and just want to be able to have as much top end as that sled had, if not more. Thanks guys.

You won't know how fast your '06 Vector GT is until you break-it-in properly. After that you can start looking at ways to improve the top-end (skis, gearing, clutching, TURBO or SC etc...)

My 'o5 Vector took an 'o5 Doo Renegade w/600 HO motor easily off the line, but as we passed 90 and neared 100 mph on the dream meter, he was inching by me.....
The Vector s/b VERY CLOSE if not a bit faster once it's broke in. Some people say it'll run with 700's.

if u wanted top end u should have gotten an apex....if u need to go that fast. i've seen some vectors hit 110....on the dream o meter tho. but i still think thats fast enough for 98% of the ppl who ride. only time ur gonna use it is across a lake. i like the nytro...geared down, i'd take a machine that maxes out at 70 but takes the cake down low....as long as i could do crazy wheelies with it

Gearing up usually equals less shift in the clutches unless you find extra power to pull the gears. If top end was that important, I would install a lower profile track. A 1.25 track takes a few mph off on top, but gains on the bottom...all about compromise I guess..

The Vector is a low-end animal, for lake runners it should pull the 1.65 as the Warrior does.

gotta love the fat powerband of the vector........but the dead topend is a little dissapointing :?

Just add a bottle & only use it when you need the extra 5-10 mph!!!
That would be hard not to use it all the time though!!!
