Going back to 24/50 gears

Ya but it’s slower corner to corner, ET way faster, 660 et 24/50 better

Yes after testing both sets (21/38 and 24 /50) on a tuned sled my preference is 24/50 for a trail guy!!!
If you want to do and only do high speed runs 21/38 works well

I ran the storm 150 for 5000 miles. 3000 tuned to 270. It was great stock but after the tune the track started to show some accelerated wear. Bending lugs over and delaminating

5000mile(3000 with tune) actually isn't bad imo especially running 270

I have contemplated this year change also. How did effect MPG? I don’t want to get much less than I already am with my sidewinder.

24/50 22/41 21/38 were all extremely close on out 1700km trip. Sometimes I was 1-2 liters more other times the 22/41 was a few liters more and same with the 2 guys with 24/50!
On out first part of the trip we had a 200km stretch and my gas light was on and so was the 22/41. The 2 guys with 24/50 didn't get the gas light.
All of us have the hurricane pm 240 270 300
We never seen a difference between the 240 and 270 in fuel efficiency betweens all of us from one setting to the next!! I run 270 most of the trip
Only time we see bad fuel mileage was on the big northern trails cruising between 120-160 and some long wot runs

I've never been a believer that gearing affects milage, but clutching certainly does.

Between the 4 of us (2 winders and 2 cats
Both 2017 winder 129
I believe run
Dalton weights
41/35 helix
6:2 wrap
Sec. B/O
Prim B\R
T/p rollers both clutches

2020tcat
Stock clutching
Just dalton weights

My 2019 zr9000
I tried different springs
White /bronze primary
Orange /violet secondary

So guys with the 24/50 gear change do I need to change the chain and will this make a difference out of the hole quicker and I also have a 35/39 helix is this set up better than what I have now 22/41, so I already whent up 1 tooth on the top but didn't see a difference

Man this is disappointing to hear because before the season started I had posted that I was about to install the 24/50 gears in my Winder for these exact reasons and most people said it will be really bad. Mostly because they said the Cat clutching is setup to take better advantage of the 24/50 and if you put that on a Winder it will not work well. Something about clutch ratio being different and it would not work with the Yam clutches so I sold the gear set I had bought new :(

Marc has a Cat so I don't thing its 100% exactly the same. I will try and find my thread.

My buddy has 24/50 on his winder with hurricane 240/270/300 and his sled is like a jack rabbit..lol

That's a good thing I assume? Lol I'm 80% on the verge of selling this for a new 2021 but if not I may do this.

You need a 92 chain
