Thanks to everyone for the ideas, suggestions, and help. I finally got to ride Mon. night with the new pipes, clutch, airbox mod and CR10's.
I know everybody here has great things to say about Ulmers' clutch, but I have to say
to Bender Racing for the clutch kit and pipes. I got to ride about 45 miles with 4 of my good friends and everybody thought that the Bender pipes sounded awesome! From riding 500+ miles last season, I hope I am correct in saying that at a steady pace in the trails, the noise level isn't any louder than stock. One of the new guys in our group (by bro. in law) was breaking his brand new REV 600, and he rode right behind me most of the night, and said he could barely hear me. I know with the stock exhaust, the mid throttle "echo" at about 6-8000 rpm's would seem very loud to me. These seem to almost be quieter during cruising, but don't get me wrong, they will bark if you want them to. The fit and finish was great, they bolted right in. For anybody who wants a better sounding sled, but doesn't want extra noise, these are the pipes for you!
The Bender clutch kit took me about 45 minutes to install (at 3:00 in the morning hopped up on Monster!!) and I've never touched a clutch before. I am a very mechanically inclined guy, but IMO, any body could do this very easilly, and it worked awesome right out ot the box! My sled feels like a totally different animal! I was very nervous that I would have problems I wouldn't know how to fix or adjust, but there was nothing to worry about. I do have to adjust the fuel as may here have stated, but other than that, I love it! Now I need studs in a baaaaaddd way! I'll have to find out what works best and get that done next.
I did cut the bottom of my air box out as well. I just used my Dremmel and cut the stock air opening out and the entire lowest part of the box. I did leave the little drain hose nipple just incase!!??
I have the paint job done, and as soon as I have it buffed out, I'll get some good outdoor pictures posted.
Thanks to all for the advise!
