GPS for downloading trail maps

I did quite a bit of research last year on this and found great help on this site. I ended up with a Garmin Oregon 400t. I should mention that I had a ton on Best Buy gift cards so the price wasn't a big deal. The touch screen was a bit of a gamble with the cold but I can say that it worked flawlessly. No issues with functionality and we took a week in the U.P. were it was about -10*F on average with a few day and nights getting as low as -23*F. V.V. Mapping works great and is great to work with, the guy responds to emails even at 12:00am, ships product out quickly, just all around ausome to deal with. Also a site sponser. Check out the GPS section if you haven't already, there should be some good info in there as well.

Hi, I am using a Garmin 60CSX on a Ram handlebar mount. Also just purchased VWMapping trail maps. What an awesome combination! I would HIGHLY recommend this combo. ;)! Merry Christmas, Chuck

Love my Nuvi 500, waterproof, works well in the cold and a large touch screen.

Well now, dont be mad about that lump of coal in your stocking, its all this Elf/midget put in Santa's bag with your name on it!! :tg:

I've got a Nuvi 550, works great. It's nice to get a combo road GPS so you can see where the road is if you're off trail, also has topo maps.

Hey Grimm--I've been looking everywhere for one of those handlebar mounted clocks like you have, where did you get yours?

Actually, it's a Timex wristwatch, even has a temperature function on it. Regarding a handlebar mount clock though, have you tried searching motorcycle catalogues? My Vstar had one from the previous owner.

The RAM mount is adjustable...you mean to tell me you ride with your nads on the gas cap? You can find a decent GPS for about $300 up here, probably for a couple of hundred in the States. The RAM mount was about $20-$30.

I use a Garmin 60CS. Just spent some time helping a friend get Mapsource on his comp and get QC maps in his Nuvi. I don't care much for the Nuvi interface for sledding and was wondering how you make a waypoint or create multiple track logs on a Nuvi. The new touchscreen oregon and colorado models are pretty cool.
