Just bought this unit and it is really easy to figure out and use. I was using it and had it set up in about 30 min after reading the manual which only took about 20 min. You can also buy the mounting bracket to attach to your sled. On their website I noticed they are coming out with a 400, 500 & 600 series which has lith ion batteries downloads for maps SD memory so cant run out of memory and charges at home or right on your sled with a power point. I may have to take this one back and wait for them to come out. Really simple to use and has all the bells and whistles. Some people I know have GPS that they cant figure out. Do you know anyone like that Stu. lol :D

Looks like a nice unit there Sled Dog.
What kind does Stu have

He has the one I had originally and I couldnt figure it out also, way to complicated to do what I wanted it to do. The one I took back was a magellan meridian platinum or gold. This one is straight forward easy user friendly. I told the clerk I was going to take it home and try it out and if it was too complicated it was coming back. Much to my surprise it was really easy to understand easy to read and it has a back light with an auto shut off to save power. In fact it has poser management built right in. Fits in the palm of your hand easy so it goes in pockets even easier. I am going to get the handle bar bracket to mine. Should also mention this 300 unit has barometer, altimeter and temperature built right into it with a weather screen. When using it today to do some trial runs it showed two aircraft and they were moving right on the screen, have to read a bit more on that cause I didnt know it showed where aircraft were in your vicinity would be handy if one was lost and wanted to send a sos.

I think I am going to go for the 500 when it comes out it will have a lithium batteries and a cigarette cord for charging. This would be better for sledding then you dont need to tote along batteries
