Anyone care to share some secrets about what type of settings work best in the rear of a mono-skid for grass drags,on an 06 apex. Like tighter limiter strap, pre-load etc.

Going to some outlaw events and want to make a respectable showing.

Set the transfer rod to max and put the limiter to the first set of holes. Also for a cheap mod and if you are running studs and I am assuming you are. Buy the White Yamaha Secondary spring (16.00 bucks) and set it to 70 degrees.

i usually take my rear shock out, lower the rear to where i want it,measure the center to center distance of the shock mounting holes and use a piece of square tubing in place of the shock cut to length and holes drilled to c-t-c length,i then use a small strap in front in place of limiter strap because stock limiter wont go short enough, the rear skid still has a little movement, you will have to lower the front a lot to make it so the track is just a little off the ground at the rear wheels, when it launches the track willl lay flat and the skis should lift about 2 inches, the pic at the left of my post is at the local radar run last winter, set up works really well,i have never run on grass but should be the same for ice or grass

170plus do you spin a LOT less with that setup??
Let me know what you measurement c-t-c on you tube if you have it out. I may ty it.
have you run any top end runs with that setup, if so, did you gain any speed?
thanks

i posted a few pics last year of a day on a local lake, all the other sleds were running wheelies off the line and in the pics it looked like we were sleeping but my sled just never lifted the skis much so it would just launch, top end was way up because of the resistance lost cause there were no angles for the track to run just forward and back so it really rolls, right now i dont have the c-t-c measurement but i will get it today, plan on running around the fields to burn all the old gas out and the fogging oil, will be getting it ready for the radar run on the 9th,in the pic on the left you can see the shocks arent the stock floats,i use a set of works front shocks off my old quadracer and they are perfect length,it really works well

here is the pic i was telling you about, looks like my kid fell asleep but if you look close the skis are up about an inch and its just going forward
