We ran our packed powder(not great traction for drag racing) lake all day with my friends 11SE my 06GT , my wife's Vector GT and my friend and his wife's Skidoo 800Etec and 1200 4stroke (Both well broken in.) All of us were studded too but I don't think they made a difference today..
We raced many times from start to top end and the results were always the same. First out of the hole every time was my wife's Vector followed real close by the 1200 Doo. The Etec was real close to the 1200. Us Apexes were spinning last. After about 600 ft we were all about even with the Etec in the lead slightly. As the races progressed the SE would start to leave all of us. Me and the Etec were pretty close until about 110 on my speedo when I could slightly walk away from him. Maybe 1 or 2 mph. The SE checks out from everyone. I would say he is at least 5mph faster than me. Low hp wins short drag races with limited traction and these 11 Apexes have great top end. The 11 Apex is running 10800 now with 1500 miles on the meter. Next week we are going to start tweeking it with similar mods that I have..

So where does the 1200 finish at when the race is over? Just curious.........

The last one I raced went into limp mode as I was passing it.

1200 was second to last quite a way back once we got out further. My wife's 06 carbed VectorGT was last behind the 1200 but only by a couple of sled lengths!!! Her top end was almost the same as the 1200, but she could holeshot all of us in the short race on the not so good packed powder.

Hmm, that's what I was guessing. Different stories being told on another site if you know what I mean. LOL!

Traction and tuning can make a sled with less hp win in a drag race but a mile long lake race shows the true potential of these sleds. Mine is fast but this new one has 120mph+ legs on ice.
