I am thinking about buying a 4x4 and am new to the automatic scene. I am thinking about a 660 grizzly. It will have to be used as I cant afford a new one. How are these machines holding up to mud/snow and water? Anything specific I should look at? My other option was a 800 outlander.

Thanks

I love mine. If you keep the machine in stock form, there is little to no problems.

Is there any certain year to look for or stay away from? All I would add would be a set of 27's and a air filter if I do get one.

Thanks

27's are a big jump over the stock 25's. I have a set of 27"589's on my 660 and there is a noticable difference in power. You may want to think about a clutch kit and/or a pipe if you go this big. If you just want the extra ground clearance, you'll be ok stock. If you're gonna do some serious digging, the 27's will make the stock 660 grunt. Just my personal experience.

I don't think you could go wrong with a 660. I have an 05 and I love it.

grizzly

Iv'e got 10400 km on my 03 grizzly, did the annual maintenance,oil-filter,clean air filter.I just changed the front wheel bearings for $45.00 Never even looked at the belt and clutch condition,i guess it would be time, but it still runs like a charm, just like new.You wont regret your buy...
