Has anyone gutted the exhaust on a Vector???Bought the Grandson a 05 Vector for Christmas and he finds it too quiet compared to his old Polaris.He is looking for better sound but I don't want it too loud.Any info would sure help!!!

try a search on gutting, you will probably lose 1-2 HP though. Yeah the 3 cylinder is a tiny bit too quiet I agree.

The inside of the muffler on the vectors is about the same as RX-1/APEX. The cross over pipes inside the muffler on the vector are smaller.All I did was cut the top open and drill 2 5/8 inch holes in each cross over tube. The sled sounded good and wasnt too loud just had a different tone to it. I have cut the cross over tubes out on other ones and IMO they are to loud for most people.

Cut the 2 baffles out of the muffler today and it's louder than stock but not loud enough to have anyone complain about excessive noise.The grandson likes the sound better than stock!!!Thanks for the info guys.

Can you post up a sound clip for us. This is a great alternative to buying an expensive exhaust.

Sorry i`m not that advanced in computer technology and don`t have the right equipment to do sound clips.The exaust sound is not loud enough to interfere with any sound laws or for property owners to complain about in my area!!!radianguy said:
