Post in the general section has me thinking of gutting my warriors exhaust for a throatier sound. Any pros and cons and advice on this procedure. Don't want to be obnoxious, but wouldn't mind more growl. Thanks

Leave it alone.

The 4 cyls with a gutted exhaust= really f-ing loud.

I have been thinking about the same mod, I am going to look for a good used exhaust to try it on so I can always go back to the stock exhaust if I like.

Thanks...know of any sound clips on this?

I have Bender exhaust on my 03 RX-1. I have ridden it with this exhaust for the last 3 seasons. It is close to the sound level of a gutted stock exhaust, perhaps a bit louder. I am going back to stock, tired of the noise and worrying about getting a ticket. There is NO performance gain with the Bender or gutted stock exhaust.

Mine is gutted and I love the sound. Has a nice rap to it when you are cranking on it but I don't think it is overly loud at all. But I used to ride Polaris triple/triples so I am used to a louder exhaust.

In my signature is a sound clip of my modded exhaust on you tube. How loud it is ,is dependent on how much you cut out. I heard some incredibly loud sleds but mine is not much louder than stock but has a whole different sound.

I have an 05 that I gutted and I hate it. I have been using Hauck gyt r duns for 5 yrs and love the superbike sound but they suck for durability. I have 5 broken ones hanging in the shop.

The gutted muffler seems to make the mind numbing rumble worse. It also depends on helmets it is less noticeable in my BVS2 vs open face. I did the gut on both my 06 and 08 Apex's and ended up putting haucks in them.
