I just got back from my first ride with the ultra q on my xtx. First impressions are that this pipe sounds sweet!! Not too loud just a nice tone.
After Checking the plugs I noticed that they are burning quite hot. The instructions that came with this silencer say that a fuel programmer isn't needed. What do you guys think?

remember the emissions thingie...2012 compliant? clean plugs is a sign of a clean engine..

going out on a limb here...but I say plug reading on a fourstroke is different than a 2smoke...to me only way to totally know you are running a lean afr is a wideband...

a light tan colour on the plugs means your burning fine, if they are wet or totally black you have yourself an issue.

also can we get a sound clip of the new pipe, i have been thinking about the ultraq myself and am curious :yam:

The plugs are lighter than tan. They look almost grey. As for the sound bite you can find a video on youtube with a guy that has an ultra q on his xtx. That's how I made my decision

Light grey if fine. just not white!!

You sound like your ok. Check out this chart, its old but is still true for 4 strokes.

As for the exhaust, I like the sound of it that I have heard on Youtube. However, the problem I see is this, most other sleds ( 2 strokes) exit below the sled, towards the ground. If I ride by a Sheriff with the Ultra Q pointing right at him ( off the the side about chest level) I am thinking I am getting a ticket. At least with the exhaust hitting the ground, it muffles it a little bit. Thats really the only thing stopping me from getting it, don't want to worry about a damn ticket when I am riding.
