Hammer time weights

I finally got the right parts, and installed my weights. I had to call Randy to verify what the parts weigh. I was told I was the only one having trouble with the directions.

After my call, I noticed that instead of the 2 primary springs, I was sent a white primary spring, and a yellow secondary spring. The directions say you don't need a change of the secondary spring, and it says I should have gotten a white, and grey primary spring. I'm sure it's just my reading ability, that has caused me to get the wrong springs again.

At least I got the white one, which is the one they recommend.

Does anyone have a clue about the yellow spring.

I also have a white and yellow spring that came with the kit I ordered. Like you said there is no mention of a yellow spring in thr yamaha assembly. I'll have to call as well and get the grey one. I would say your not the only one having trouble with the directions. I know I'm a rookie at this but even I could see the springs are different.

I want to buy a digital scale to see how close in weight they are once I get them loaded up. Have you weighed yours? Did he (randy) settle on how to load the heel, mid, and tip or did you just start with the recomendations in the instructions? It seems from other posts other people had gotten 2-3 different set-ups.

He said to follow the directions, but when I said I couldn't come up with the right parts for the middle, he said to use the steel screw, and the aluminum t nut. The shoulder gets the large steel screw.

Let me know how the weight reads on the scale.

I don't think you'll ever use the grey spring. The white one is the spring to use. Not sure of the yellow secondary though.

dano, why do you say to use the white spring? Have you been testing with the hammertime? I have a white spring.

I just got 2 sets of hammertime weights... I am going to weigh them on Friday or Saturday and will post findings.

RX-1 Yooper, No I have'nt tested the hammertime weights, but I have the grey and white springs for the regular HC weights. I was looking at the new hammertime weights a couple weeks ago at a snow show and I was talking to Randy on different setups and springs. He did recomend the white over the grey for the hammertime weights. IMO the grey is too stiff and will require extra weight to reduce belt slip and heat buildup. It also takes HP to compress that stiff spring which IMO is lost HP. I'm curios how them new weights work so I hope you guys can give positive feedback. (they were sold out at the show). I think these weights were track dyno tested again this year so expect some changes for a good trailable setup...

I'm back... .5g difference between the heaviest and the lightest weight... .2g after I played around with the differnt parts to get to stock set-up. Is this good? I have never done much playing around with the clutch before...

Thanks ape, I looked for a good scale over the weekend but wasn't able to find a decent one. I may get one off the web.

Honestly I'm not sure how much variation in the weight is acceptable.
