had my sons XTX into the dealer today for first service - told the mechanic that the hand warmers weren't working at all - he checked the resistance in the warmers and the voltage to the warmers and found that the ECU was only putting about 4.5 volts to the warmers - manual recommended changing the ECU and/or the Speedo, so new ECU will be installed to see if that get's the warmers back. i have a good dealer and we are going to see how far yamaha will go to fix this - the warmers worked for the first 500 miles and quit - thumb warmer still works. i'll keep you posted. i wonder how many ECU's and Speedo's they will change under warranty to fix this? should be an interesting trip.

it was good and then it was bad - seemed around the 500 mile mark it quit working - i know the fi mapping changes i wonder if there is a bug that changes the handwarmer voltage as well. be interesting to see if the new ecu helps.
