For next season, I'd like to move my nytro's handlebars forward like the original prototypes shown by yamaha (3 inches foward). Since I doubt there's a stock part to do this, I'd like to hear some opinions on handlebar risers. Articulated risers look real interesting but I'm skeptical. Any insights/pics/horror stories, etc. would be most welcome. ![Yrules :yam: :yam:](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/yrules.gif)

You can fet a pivoting riser like the powermadd or the ROX.
Next year I think I am going to put a Rox on my Apex.
Both of them are high quality, you can vary the heights (spacers on the powermadd, different lenght arms on the ROX)

For you guys with a Rox set-up, once its on did it ever loosen up?
Tork, I take it that the Rox Apex adaptor also would fit a Nytro? Nytro only has a short block/stem sitting on top of the steering post that the stock riser bolts to. Is the Apex set-up the same? Thanks.

you dont need the rox adapter for nytro vector models.unless your stock riser is one piece like the apex.the adapter is meant so you can use your chrome trim ring found on apex's and that they dont have the bottom bar piece like older models.
i have never had a rox loosen up or heard of any.

Thanks for the info. richierich. Nytro riser has no bottom block on the steering stem just a T shaped mount for factory riser. If I can get the same part (vertical) ordered in at my dealer off an 06 RS vector mountain it should give me what I'm after (ie bars straight up instead of laid back). If I can't get it, then it looks like a Rox set-up with a stock lower block off a vector.

Here's my setup; it's an '03 RX-1 mtn with Fly Racing 8" riser sitting on a 3/4" block from MPI with a Sportech ABR pivot adapter. My bars are Fly aero taper sno-x mountain bend models and the height is right at my waist when standing (I'm 5'7" tall) and are just below my chest while seated on my BOSS high rise seat.
FYI, pull your bars and look at the bottom that sits in the stock Yamaha clamps. If it's like the RX-1s there is a little stud riveted to the bars that limits the rotation of the bars. One good push forward on the bars with them in the clamps but loose enough to move will snap this right off alowing the bars to rotate forward for a straight up angle. This will also raise the bars about 1" while giving the cables more slack.

Does this mean that you didn't have any luck finding the same mount pictured on the Nytro on the 06 website? Do you think that might be the same riser as on our 06's, but with a different mounting block that allows you to move the bars to perpendicular? I like the riser height, but I'd sure like to move the riser forward. Someone must know what became of the set-up pictured in the website pics for 06.

Exactly what I was thinking. The early (proto) nytros had that vertical riser which is exactly the same as what went into production except for the "mounting block". Yamaha's US website (parts) has all the schematices and part #; where I checked it out.
I have pics of vector mountain SE with the vertical riser (mounting block) but on the yamaha website, its the same part # ($200 Can.)so it must be just an old photo. I read somewhere that the proto nytros with the vertical mounting block/riser were changed before production because yamaha wanted less weight over the front.
Stock my Nytro measures about 7 1/2 inches from the top of the steering post to the bars. For next season to get the bars forward, I'm thinking of a Rox adjustable height riser and adapter tube. Then all I'll need is the bottom handle bar holder from the vector model.
Gotta do something, on jump landings those raked bars are killing my wrists. Plus sitting up close to the tank, I found the Nytro to turn just as quick as an Apex.
Thats a sweet looking set-up BlgsRX-1mtn, I'll definitly check out those products.

I've seen early photos of prototypes and the ones I've seen the riser and the base look like they attach to each other differently than the production versions. Also from what I've read the stock Nytro setup places the bar position about 1 3/4" farther forward and about 3" farther up than the Vector setup. Any idea if this is correct?
Anyone want to get rid of their stock Nytro risers or bars???

7 Skulls- looking at that website posted by BlgsMtn it appears if you just buy the "fly pivot post adapter" for $16.95 you won't need the base plate from a Vector.

Good information here for my project also. Just bought a Nytro bar for my Vector. I'm wondering if I used that Fly pivot post adapter and a set of 7" Fly risers if I'd be close to the Nytro setup height-wise?
