Hard starting 03 RX1 -FIXED!

Greetings everyone,
It's been a while since I have posted here. Anyway, I can't get my RX-1 to run.
It will start with a lot of cranking for about 10-20 seconds then die. Crank agian and nothing. If left for several minutes it will start again and die. Once started and giving it any throttle kills it. It's running on last years gas without additives so I amsumuing the jets may be gunked up? How difficult to clean these. This engine is 100% stock. Thanks in advance.

Change your plugs. I am sure they look like hell with old gas. Did you use a fuel stabilizer like Sta-bil? That will gunk up plugs too!

I would check your jets as I bet they are all gummed up. I always have to them cleaned after the sled has sat all summer with being started.

Definitely needs the carbs cleaned.

Thanks for all your help. I cleaned the jets but they looked ok. Some crud in the bowls. Put it back together and still will not run. Pulled the plugs again and decided to replace them. Turned the key and I'm off and running!!

Did you go with NGK, Champion, other...?

I installed the NGK same as what was in it before.
