What do you think of the strength of the front ends on the phazers. I bounced off a tree earlier this week and bent the steering a-arms and maybe subframe. I brought it to the dealer and he said this could cost up to $2500 to fix. I think this is kind of ridiculous. I was going quite slow when this happened, I thought the front ends were stronger than this. You would think yamaha would make them a little bit stronger if it is going to cost $2500 to fix.

The a-arms seem weak to me. I bent my right upper a-arm the second day I had the sled! I haven't priced a new one out yet but the suspension seems to work fine even with the bent arm.

Other than the bushings I think the front of our Phazers is very strong.Takes a good hit to bend a-arms and have never seen subframe bent yet.

Wrong ... just ask people that have bent them.

I bent mine while travelling 5 to 10mph in deep powder and the ski hit a hidden rock. It bent right where the bolt meets the frame. Could not see the bend till I removed the a-arm. Bolt sheared off as well.

The tubing seems slight to me, but I guess that was one of the weight saving measures Yamaha engineered into my Venture (not so Lite)!

I have bent both a arms and the shock, I put them in a vice and bent them back, that was 1400 miles ago and I ride it hard. As long as I don't contact trees and rocks, culverts etc,,, I am fine, I used a come-along with a-arm in the vice, I found the metal to be very rigid and strong.

If something gets hit all bets are off.Its always been that way.I know a guy with a 1000 AC who rides in Colorado mountains. He would go through up to 12 a-arms a season. He bought those Billet arms and has tweaked those 3 times now.How many sleds have been totalled going over a railroad crossing?I still think for the length of our arms they work just fine.

my bolts sheared also on my sled when i bounced off the tree. I have bounced off a few trees before with sleds at the same speed and never did as much damage as this. My dealer said they would have to take it apart just to make sure the subframe isn't bent and if it is it is the second or third phazer that i have heard of bending a subframe (i hope it is not bent).
