Has anyone changed CRANKSHAFT SEAL on an APEX? Where 2get1?

Has anyone ever changed a crankshaft, actually the reduction shaft seal on an APEX? This is the seal that is behind the primary clutch? Does anyone know where you can purchase this seal, Yamaha does not even list it. Thanks, Mike

Starting in 2006, the PTO assembly seems to be listed as a single piece. That means that to change the seal, they may want you to replace the entire PTO assembly.

HOWEVER THIS MAY NOT BE NECESSARY!

In 2003-2005, individual parts are shown for the PTO assembly. If I were to GUESS about it, I would say that the 06+ PTO probably comes apart in the same manner as 03-05.

Since it has to come off either way, you should remove it and take it apart. IF IT CAN COME APART, then you have two options for seal replacement: 1) use the part number from 03-05 and cross your fingers that it fits, 2) Take the measurements and buy a generic seal.

I hear thoes seals go out alot on thoes turbo sleds my turbo vector seal is fine good luck sorry couldnt help myself..Jeff
