Long travel suspension systems are wonderful for cross country racers and sno-cross types but in the real world of groomed trail riding we have never needed them less. Long travel suspensions bring speed scrubbing skid frames, higher centers of gravity and really screwed up frontal aerodynamics. All of this and already the weight penalty we have. Don't get me wrong - I love my RTX but in all reality an all out ditch banger it will never be. Give me a working two thirds of the existing suspension and it would be a much better groomed trail machine which is what it was intended for anyway. It would also be faster......... Oh, I already changed out the horrid factory skis. This helps but does not address the high center of gravity. I am sure many of you have problems with this idea but input is what I am looking for. Thank You.
