Has anyone installed Hauck's GHT R DUN yet?

Does it pull as hard or harder than stock if so what about top end? I'm not fully done exploiting this baby yet! Initially with stock clutching - it does not pull and you loose bottom end!

I've raised the engagement to 4200-4400rpm from 3500rpm and I've finally matched the torque I had before! (I've got the filters & timing key in there - and with a stock exhaust - it was a beast!) Now I'm working on the top part and at 10200-10300 so far with mixed feelings! I think it's coming along! I'm setting up to run at 10400-10600 like instructed - hopefully it's worth the dime then!

Any feedback/suggestions from anyone is most welcome!

P.S. - Hauck wants to sell the clutch kit with it - but I've always evaluated a pipe on it's own merit first! I do not want to blend in or throw another variable in before I'm convinced that the pipe works! - cause it's to noisy for my taste! (if it makes the power - I'll endure - but otherwise it's for sale!) :die

Update!

Reving 10,400 initial with climb to 10,600rpm now! Engaging at 4,800rpms!

Not the same machine! Did 129mph on a plowed road (not ice) - so I know there's another 10mph on dreameter in there for ice!! I believe it's worth a few mph's for sure! need to race someone to compare!

Will let you all know as soon as I find out! Sure looks more promissing!

Put it on - no other changes initially!
RPM's did change from 10,500 to 9,900.
Then I started re-adjusting as noted

my dad- also known as big-d on here has a hauck pipe with headers and he said that it really improved performance-but he also put aclutch kit and k&n's after he installed the exhaust so he'd be the person to talk to

They did initially! The pipe sounds awsome! It really sounds like an R1 bike when you mash it or when you let off! Upon coming to an idle it rumbles like a 5 liter Mustang! Once at idle it sounds stock(except when you goose her - then it sound like a bike again!)

This weekend - we'll be out rat racing with some other RX's and Apex's so I'll get a better idea of performance!

It seems to pull quite hard now - but unless you're running against someone else - one can think he's a legend in his own mind eh!

After the weekend - facts will talk and b.s will walk! But to get 129mph on hard pack road is pretty good - it will definitly do 6-7 more on ice(maybe more!) My fastest yet is 132mph/hr or 202km/hr on dreameter! I'm real happy over all! Many say that the DM is about exactly 14mph fast on the top - this would mean 118mph on the gun roughly(but no actual gun reading - so it's hearsay for now!)

Those are good numbers! Is that before the exhaust? Have you done anything else? What distance?

Mine's been on since December, I did so many changes I can't tell what is adding what but let me tell you even if I lost 7 HP the shock value the pipe sound gets you every time you come to a trail stop its worth it. People have told me they could here the howl coming for miles and sat and waited to see what the hell was coming. The sled with the new rear suspension, track and pipe is ballistic and when you launch jumps out of the box with no track spin, weight transfer is set at min but pulls the skis about a foot and explodes. The sound just rattles through your helmet. RPMs are jumping to 10,300 much quicker and max out at 10,600. I have not touched the clutch yet still box stock. This thing has eaten every thing I have thrown at it from Artic Cat Thunder Cat 1000, Polaris pro-ex 800 with big bore kit. This sled truly is fun to ride now. Even when just running down a smooth straight trail you want to keep cracking the throttle just for the Braaap affect.

Team Meirda

132 was best stock DM speed & 129 was best speed with pipe!
It's a definit attention getter - the sound it makes when you deccelerate (ooo-wa) sounds exactly like a bike! The other thing is you can sneak up on people(they don't hear you coming) until you pass them!

For now I'm really comtemplating keeping it though! Stock for me was without doubt(with the K&N's) and timing key the most explosive hole shots ever experienced on anything to date(with the 05 mono transfer)

I launch 03 & 04's and it takes them 2 miles to real me in if they can at all!
With tranfer and front springs adjusted properly it makes it the sled to catch in the trails!

Coming back to the top end issue - I feel the pipe gives one a bit - but with a penalty in acceleration(with pipe itself)

Now clutching either the stock sled or piped sled makes a huge difference!
With stock I gained 8mph(best completely stock was 124) then 132 clutched. So far the best with stock weights(optimized) was 129mph.

Now I'm going to try the new weights combo to see if in fact the pipe works then make my final decision. (It is however a bit loud around 7,000 rpm - but hardly ever there anyway)

So have you had a chance to get the weights in and have the entire package set up to see if it does gain you thier claimed H.p. or other worth while qualities ? I assume you have the Pipe, filter's,timing key way, and fuel accelerator ? I'd sure like to get an experienced user's feedback, my thought was to do the filters , pipe and fuel accelerator as a package deal using stock clutching (massaged a bit ) and drop a tooth (top gear) with adjustable Helix on the secondary, this for an Apex Mountain though . Any more feedback would be great !

new information!

I'm told the pipe should run at 10,800rpm(no more as the rev limiter is near)
If this is the case I'm now convinced that dropping one tooth and re-clutching will make this work!

The extra revs will offset the gearing so acceleration is better without the penalty of speed loss! In addition, the 12 degree sheaves should allow overdrive in ideal conditions to minimize any top speed losses!

Depending on gearing or clutching(aggressively curved light weights will work with the lower gearing but not the reverse!) Found this out last year in March. I could not pull 25/38 gearing with 89L weights,OPO and Silver spring! I'm convinced 23/38 gearing would of been a whole new kettle of fish!

Otherwise this clutching works very well on a stock set-up or stock with filters! I can see and I realise that this pipe works! It is a top end max flow type of pipe and the motor needs to be set up to run there to take advantage of what the pipe can do!

I was mislead with instructions that said 10,000-10,500rpm's

By trial and error I sneaked up to 10,600rpm and things started to change pretty notably! Then this year I was told by hauck that it runs even better at 10,800rpm's

Now I understand, but the pipe is out for now - I was too frustrated with it last year! Now I'm back to stock with filters for now.

I'm going to try 23/38 gearing, under cut helix, 12 degree sheaves and maybe Velocity rings. Then maybe give the pipe another run later in the year.

Anyone - have feedback? (for Hauck GYT R DUN exhaust?)

Can anyone else add comments to what I've tried or what you have experienced?

speed

ive seen 140 on the dream meter with dolton clutching and 137.5 mains only stk air box, stk gearing. no cut clutches. ;)!
