I bolted in the GYTR shock on the weekend. No other changes. Straight rnr.
Take sled out for a little zip tonight to make sure all is good before the TY ride in the morning.
Shock works great, night and day from the stock XTX shock. still some bottoming tortions on hard. Adjust two clicks at a time BUT while 70-100 through whoops/rough hard trail I have a serious "wobble". Borderline uncontrollable. It's like the toe in is , towed in. Checked and I'm toed out about 3/8".
To describe better it's like one ski bites then the other bites with direct feedback to the bars. Front of the sled jumping around , Really gotta hang onto it. Something suspension wise I've never had before. Honestly abit spooky.
After readjusting centre spring (weight off skid, full out till spring jiggles, tightened approx 1/4") rode and its waaaaaay better in whoops barely feel them to be honest. Smooth. But that wobble is still there, just not as bad.
Any feedback guys/gals?? I'm stumped.

Too much weight transferred to the skis. Is the back end higher with those shocks?

I was (am still am, to a lesser extent) having the same issue with my 07 Mountain Lite in powder:
http://www.ty4stroke.com/threads/ju...ow-weird-tank-slapper-thing-in-powder.135311/
It started when the sled was new (to me) and I installed the factory sway bar (which was missing when I got the sled). preload on all the shocks was maxed out at the time from the previous owner.
I have since adjusted the preload on the shocks (none on the center shock and about half on the front shocks). It's gotten better but still does it at certain speeds in powder.
The sled is on stock original shocks which could definitely have a bit more damping so that might be part of my issue.

I think you are over riding your front shocks. Rebound specifically. This is very common. When you get the back end better you will feel the front but go faster. Get front end better and you feel the rear but go faster. This continues until you run out of motor or the sled breaks. On my Phazer I ran out of motor. Same thing has happened to my Viper this year. Many trails I am just pinned right to the bars for miles and 100% confident.

I was looking for your post surestick as I remember reading it.
Voda, yes, rear does sit higher. Holds nicely against blocks when I get off it which is nice. Doesn't just stay sagged. After 400+Kms yesterday I'd have to agree with you and cannon.
Cannon, I made adjustments to the sled throughout the day yesterday on the MB TY ride and it did get better. I absolutely know what your talking about now. I was def faster driving aggressive. Pleasantly surprised when it felt like I was "going slow" and looked at speedo to see I was entering corners quite quickly and really sailing over studder bumps. Slower riding 50-70k it was abit twitchy. I haven't got my mojo back quite yet with new adjustments. I'd say the transfer in skid is quite more efficient and it's thrown what I'm used to off when the front wants to do its job in the corners.
Hit 123km/h (conf gps) all day long and it was +2 and sticky. Never been comfortable making a corner on the lake at full speed. Great feeling.
It's a proven fact "slow is fast". On another long trip this weekend so I'll keep adjusting on trail and I'm sure I'll dial her into the "out of motor" phaze. Sure feels like I'm close!! So is the end of winter.
Thanks for the help guys!!! Sure appreciate the help you get on this site!!!
