Finally received my turbo kit , still waiting for intercooler though. Does anyone know pros/cons of wrapping header with heat tape and wrapping turbo with a turbo heat blanket? I can't afford the hi buck coatings right know. Thanks, any input is greatly appreciated. Here's a story I'd like to share:

My six year old son rode his 120 cc yesterday for at least an hour. (We have 2-3 inches of snow.) He walks in the garage and sees me looking at my turbo and says, "can you put a turbo on my sled dad"? Priceless! That's my boy!

I used Swain tech coating on headers and turbo as well as a turbo blanket. The only negative I've heard about the wraps is if you have a fuel leak into wrap and causes fire. The combination of coating plus blanket really cuts underhood temps, I can even put my hand on blanket over turbo after running and not get burned. Good Luck.

I HAD MY ENTIRE EXHAUST HPC COATED AND WRAPED THE TURBO AND MUFFLER WITH DEI TURBO WRAP IT WORKS EXTREAMLY WELL, ANY TIME YOU CAN KEEP MORE HEAT IN THE EXHAUST ON A TURBO THEY WILL PERFORM MUCH BETTER DUE TO HIGHER EXHAUST VELOCITY WHICH SPOOLS THE TURBO UP FASTER, JUST BE SURE TO RUN A HIGH QUALITY SYNTHETIC OIL AND ALLOW LONGER IDLE COOL DOWN TIME DUE TO THE ADDED HEAT.

Swain turbo blankets and wraps available at JEGS parts store... i use them, they work very well on rear mount systems.....
