Anyone run a higher wattage headlight bulb...I was given a set of 90/100watt blue bulbs..is there any issues with running these bulbs..Referring to the stator of robbing power from the handgrips

Did that with my 2006 Apex - the bulbs got so hot that they started to melt the plastic connection - I ran them for about a year and half then next time I had to change the oil I notice the damage. They were still working fine but I chose to be safe. I decided to install HIDs - well worth the investment - if you do it, buy them from the the fellow on this site who makes them (actually sells them to Yamaha you can see them in the Yamaha accesory book).

Personally I wouldn't.... Stock are 55 watts, remember that the headlight housing is plastic..... might melt.... If you're gonna upgrade headlights,, go hid.. I just got in from installing mine... niiiiice.........

you can buy from PIAA bulbs that are the same watts as stock55/60 but put out 100/130 they work great and don't wax out the stator system .
