Does any one know how the headlight cover/shround is suppose to be mounted on a phazer?
My headlight cover/shroud seems to have been modified to hold it on better but I ordered a new one since the original is falling off and I am not sure what parts need to be order to put in on in stock form?
From what I see there are two tabs at the front and some sort of holes at the back, and it is the back ones I am not sure how they mount...

The tabs should line up with slots that are beside the head lights on the plastic. Close to the headlight adjusting screws.
At the back there should be 2 things that stick out downwards that fit into 2 holes on the upper plastic. There should also be 2 rubber gromets that you push the cover into that holds it down. I'll see if I can get pictures

that would really help if you can get a picture...
where I think the gromets go that you are talking about I have two holes... so it sounds like I am missing both of those... and maybe something on the underside of the shroud.

thanks yamahas, thats a big help...
I guess the two nubs on the shroud that go into that rubber have been broken off and the previous owner used bolts to secure it in place. To do this he drilled two holes (one on each side) where the nubs should have been. Using washers that were bigger then the holes where the nubs were he held it in place only now the plastic has cracked and the washers don't hold. He had put two clips on the gas tank plastic that held a nut that the bolt when through... I little complicated but if the plastic hadn't broken I think it would hold better then Yamaha's way... but I will be going back to stock now that I have a new shroud coming...
I just couldn't figure out how the rubber gromets held the shroud in place, but now I can see how it works!
