I've wanted to post on this subject b4 and am finally getting around to it. The steering on my 05 MTN is VERY heavy. My shoulders are burning by the end of the day. The limiter straps are all the way out as far as I can tell in the snow. I will check again just to make sure. I'm wondering if it is just the design of the ski? They have such a deep keel that I think this is what's causing it?
Dooman bought the 05 mountain skis for his 03 but his have a way lower keel (I dunno why there is a difference) and his steering is as light as an F7 cat.
Anybody have a suggestion?

try pushing more than a pencil(or maybe it's cause your arms are so short?)! I think it's the pre-load on the front skid shock, mine was heavy steering until recently when I changed the shock position and added more preload. Also my skis are supposed to be 05 skis but arent the same as yours? Not sure if they made (2) types or if mine is an early version?

i have the 05 mountain skis on my 04, and they have a very deep keel like yours. They are indeed hard to steer with at low speeds, but at high speeds they are no problem. at low speeds i am always off ditch banging and sidehilling so it doesnt matter how easy they are to steer then.

I have 05 skis, every RX I have ridden steers hard on trail, big heavy sled with heavy nose=hard steering, some guys too proud to admit their Yammis are heavy slugs, rather than offer contructive input

I'm running Mods skis and they have a more rounded keel. What I find is almost the opposite I would like them to bite a bit harder at slow speed as the sled tends to push a bit. I also have a 162 which doesn't help the slow speed turning. I think in the summer I may bend my M7 rail tips up at the rear to help the slow speed handling. I guess maybe everything is a compromise.

Put Woody's Dooley runners on your '05 skis and that fixes the problem instantly. I hated my '05 skis and now they work great. I went with the trail type 4" of carbide and it pushes more in the turns so more aggressive carbide might fix that but the the steering is light as a feather with the 4".

Turbo...how deep is the keel in your ski, as I said in my earlier post Dooman has the same ski except a way shallower keel and his turns as light as a feather! I dunno why there is a difference but they must have changed them! I would say that the keel in my ski is about 1 1/2 " deep and the keel in Dooman's ski is about 3/4"!!!

Dooman your are trail version of 05 saddle less

Try to loosen the front shocks a bit and stiffen up the front shock on the skid. also make sure you are on top hole on the rear drop braced. this helped a lot on mine it carries more weight on the front of the skid so the rear can swing around easier.
