I wish we had a Cat forum where people all bought because one guy said to then sold for $.10 on the dollar when they couldn't make it work. I have bought more than my share of another man's junk that works really well. I continue to fine tune my set up based on what I am seeing with my sled and my clutches. More than once I have gone the wrong direction. If it's only a $100 helix that's not too bad. Seem there are people who have bought $2000 clutches that aren't happy, that would hurt. The biggest issue we have is belts. The XTX5060's and XS827's are sold out as no one wants to pay Cat $160 for their belt. I keep having to switch belts and then re-adjust everything. Nice thing is the Cat's don't seem to blow belts, can't remember the last time that was said. Got lots of good spares.

I still think its so ironic that most of us bought the winder due to YAM clutching, and bad taste in mouth from procross belt eaters...and now the cat 998 has good belt life and we are all working on things over here..LOLI wish we had a Cat forum where people all bought because one guy said to then sold for $.10 on the dollar when they couldn't make it work. I have 2 customers today report to me over 6000 km on the same belt running td powertrail. One of the the guys is running my Dalton weight up front the Hd rollers in the back and the stock rear spring at 3-3. I also. Made little shims for the secondary cover. That's it... Running stock 8jp belt.
He walked in wanting to try my latest clutch kit because he has the original basic setup we sold. My answer dont fix it if it ain't broke... I don't want to jinx his setup lol... The Dalton rear spring we sell is mainly for better starts and keeping belt at the top when stopping. So he doesn't drag race much just aggressive trail riding!
Goes to show not everyone has clutching issues...

While I totally agree on going with the Yamaha for the clutching, and have to say I'm somewhat embarrassed by it. But I do have to remind everyone that the Cat actually had a recall on it's clutches. At least Cat stepped up to the plate and provided customer service.

Which Dalton rear spring are you selling thru Turbo Dynamics?

And has anyone tried the dalton orange black secondary spring with the 33/35 helix? I did like the low end snap compared to stock secondary but honestly think the TP orange is causing heat issues? Just curious I'm more than likely gonna go with Ulmers stage 2 and if it works with no belt issues I'll be happy. I'm always had good luck with Allen's kits with spot on adjustments from the get go.
