I have a Ski Doo Modular helmet and the shield is starting to "haze" over. I clean it with glass type cleaner and no lint wipes. But it's getting worse with time. Is there a good way to polish it or just go out and drop 100 + bucks on a new shield?

I use Lemon Pledge or an anti-fog for plastics. I read somewhere that some glass cleaners have something in them that attacks plastic.

Plexus is good stuff, but I've never bothered to buy it. I clean my snowmobile and motorcycle helmet shields with plain water, and occasionally give the outside a coating of lemon pledge and buff with a piece of old flannel. If you already have some around the house, give it a try. Novus makes plastic polish that claims to remove the haze but I have no personal experience with it:

I second what Mikecam said. Most plastics don't like ammonia.

I put rain x on my shield last summer for my motorcycle...never really made a big difference. Makes a real mess if you don't aplpy it perfectly
