i have a big race comming up i just changed my base weight im looking for some info on clutch setup vs spool up time.. rx1 in a f7 body 25 pounds of boost stock yamaha clutch thanks guys
what do you want to accomplish ? there are weights, helix angles and wrap on the secondary spring. If you want the thing not to bog till she spools you are going to have to run a double angle on the helix that gets more aggresive as it shifts out or something like heel clicker II arms that have tips that can be loaded and pivot out as the revs climb.
How many HP are you built for with 25 lbs of boost? are you running low/no compression pistons how far back is the turbo and what kind of lag are you dealing with?
Further more how do you keep the thing from blowing over on you I am running 9#'s in a viper (3 cylinder) and at WOT when I pass 40 mph the front starts coming up to almost 3' no matter where I sit on the seat. I cannot imagine the rush that thing must be!!!!

what info im looking for is that i had a base weight of 60 in the supertips 6 grams at heel 14 in middle thats the 2 tungstens and and 6 grams in the tip with the dalton black green spring engaugement around 4000. one weight was cracked so now i have a new set base weight is 72 grams and now i have the clutch machined to take bombardier springs higher spring rates . im tryin to find a starting point to load up my weights and the right spring rate just somewhere to start tuning. 51 /43 helix the sled is drag race only im trying to get the 2871 turbo to spool up as quick as i can i do have different springs and helixes. anyone got a starting point for me thanks... 25-26 pounds we race on snow 151 long 2 inch track

the motor is hurricanes block bored 40 over je low comp pistons and rods turbo is about 14 inches from the cylinder head
Well the installer re-clutched mine after taking it up to 9#'s and I am over 90 grams and still hitting rev limiter at 9#s or about 230 hp

wow 90 grams per arm? I think I was only running 79g with a blue-brown-blue and a cat green wrapped to 1-0 on 270hp nytro with 47* helix at around 700ftYamadog said:Well the installer re-clutched mine after taking it up to 9#'s and I am over 90 grams and still hitting rev limiter at 9#s or about 230 hp
I know there is so many combos I am not sure what helix, and springs he has in it now. I just got it back after bumping the boost to 11#'s he clutched it then we dropped it to 9#'s and had to do it all over again. I did almost 500 miles over the weekend to complete the break in on the new motor and it has really picked up since Friday night and is now baning the rev limiter.
I am heading to the turbo/ trail sled race in 3 lakes, WI tomorrow a day early to play with weight and helix spring wrap.

sweet!!!just make sure you use a straight angle helix that Yamaha 47 was the best running helix I had for drags I still use it in my n/a nytro in a super stock 700 class and it destroys!!!!

can you do any suspensions mods after the ride? if so take a ratchet strap take all the air pressure out of the rear shock have some one stand on it or compress it down then us the ratchet to stap the skid down then pump the shock back up believe me I used this setup on my xf 1100t and it will launch you like a rocket no much ski lift...up loses races, forward wins

I know I have that problem right now it pulls the skis 1' out to 40 mph then as it shifts out the skis start going higher to close to 3' and then start coming down around 90 and finally set down at about 102 and then barely make any marks in the snow. I hate to pull them down anymore than they are now because the steering effort is so bad now with the simmons skis and 32" of carbides on them, it is a bear to ride in the tight twisties.
This video was shot prior to engine blow up and is running only 5.5 #'s of boost. after the snow clears the only marks are the wear bars and the right ski skips a spot in a small depression.

This was the return pass after the above video the first launch in the distance I was not sitting far enough front on the dash and it lifts the front till the headlight dissapears and it pulls hard left on me. The second start I scoot forward and it leaves more level.
again at only 5.5 #'s of boost.
