08 Apex MTX brake light stays on all the time. Disconnected the switch at the brake lever and no matter what position I put it to brake light stays on.

Thought it was the switch so switched it out with another and same thing. Any ideas???? Thanks.

So is the light on even with the switch unplugged?
Just finished fixin a buddy"s sled here with the same problem.
It was a broken contact tab in the switch. Made anew contact wheel for the switch and its all good now. But you say you tried another switch. Is it a "known" good switch?
The feed to the switch is blue or blue with a stripe and the switched power is green. Do you have power at the green wire when the switch is unplugged? If so you have a short from power to the green wire somewhere in the harness or a bad ground somewhere which is back feeding thru the brake circuit.

If switch unplugged no power to light. Both blue and green have power to them all the time when switch is plugged regardless of switch position. The switch I tried was off rx-1 and worked when last used. Although not same plug, I just spliced and tried it, and brake light still on. Thought maybe tail might be faulty and tried another tail light and still same thing.

Traced switch down to main harness and no ground problems......I guess will have to trace further.

It is possible the switch I tried is also bad. Can I take this apart? It appears to be a sealed unit????

Thanks for the help.

The switch that I worked on from the 05 Vector came apart very easy. One of the contact arms broke leaving it short in the switch thus making contact with the copper ring and giving a constant brake light

brake was stumped so light

Steiner thanks for the help....rally appreciate it, here is what I found!!

I traced the problem down to the harness of my Yamaheater so I sent a pm to the MASTER.......the Rockmeister for his opinion. Within minutes he not only returned my pm with advice of where to go, but also gave me his personal phone number if I had anymore questions. Super standup guy....called him on his phone and within minutes we had the issue resolved. Thanks Rock!!!!

so what was causing the problem? I ask because i currently have a brake light issue...

What is the issue? Mine was lighting up at 1/4 pull then it would turn off at full brake, I took the switch assembly off the brake handle and it just needed a quick clean up with sand paper seeing it wasn't making proper contact.

07 phazer fx. Tail light is on but doesnt get brighter when i squeeze my brake lever. So i figure either my brake light is on constantly or not comming on. Thinking it might be the switch also?

Either the switch, or possibly a burnt bulb as I'm not sure if it has a second filament for the brake. Mine was the switch. Pretty easy, just remove the nut at the bottom of the switch and it comes off a shaft.
