Hi all,

We're going to take one more trip Fri-Sun Mar 25-27 to the Northern Minnesota area.

Anyone have suggestions on which of these towns is the best to ride out of and where to stay in any of these towns Ely, Grand Marais, or Lutsen?

Taking my wife and family (my daughters have never been on a snowmobile trip - should be fun). I want trails that have 10-15 miles tops between warm stops. I'd like a Motel w/a pool but not that picky.

HELP???

Thanks!
Bob

trip

I would reccomend ely you can stay at the grand view lodge on shagawa lake
nice place also has a pool, lots of snow yet and trails are all marked, you wont
be disappointed, i might be going that same weekend and i could show you
around the trails.

You will most often find more snow along the north shore area, which would include Grand Marais and Lutsen.

Come on up to Ely, We have a ton of snow and the trails are in excellent condition!

GrassFireBob,

Stay in Tower on Lake Vermilion at the Indian Casino FortuneBay. It is right on the lake with trail access to the ArrowHead trail. About 45 minutes to Ely on the trails. The lake is staked too, with good signage. It is only 3.5 hours by car from Minneapolis. Do a google on FortuneBay for their web site. Nice rooms and very cheap.

Anyone know current trail conditions in Tower/Ely, Lutsen/Grand Marais area???

We need to make a go/no go decision by Wednesday for our trip this weekend.

Thanks so much!!!

there is plenty off snow in all the areas your asking about. And they should be grooming on wednesday or thursday.!!!
