I have a 2009 venture rs gt. got it last year with 4,000 kms know I have 7,400 kms the last Couple of ride of the humming nose is driving me crazy, I don't know if it a bearing or track too. I checked the drive shaft bearing it still had a bit of grease in it so I pack it with more grease. Can someone help me what I should do with the nose? Thanks

The simple answer is .... Ear plugs. I've been wearing them for years. Snowmobile, motorcycle, watercraft... I've gotten strange looks at times, but it works. FWIW, I haven't noticed any track noise with my recently purchased 09 Venture GT lol! Don't think I could hear it over the (modded) air box intake honk!!

1)The standard track noise.... make sure your track runs loose... saves the hifax/slides and less track noise.
2) Possibly your belt... perhaps some wear/burn spots
3) Verify that all idler wheels spin well
I would have added to regrease the speedo bearing side but you have done that. I have found with mine that the noise is much greater with hardpack trails. Overnight snowfall 'dampens' the reverberations within the tunnel with less noise!

X2 on the hard pack vs snow.............. Mine has done it for 11,000 miles now, No major problem.... I would like the doo silent track. MM.

rs venture track noise
I own a 2009 Rs Venture Gt and the track noise is driving me crazy also.
Was wondering if you found the remedy to that humming noise,i thought my Apex was bad, turns out the venture is worst.
Any ideas.

For those who suggest running the track looser: How much slack do you allow?
thanks,
I don't think the high pitch whining noise is from the track - seems to be coming from the engine area. No doubt the track causes noise as well - too bad, I always thought 4 strokes are supposed to be quieter??mikeyrules said:I own a 2009 Rs Venture Gt and the track noise is driving me crazy also.

What mod did you do to your airbox and was it any benefit? Sounds like it is noisy??Viper_Dave said:The simple answer is .... Ear plugs. I've been wearing them for years. I run 1.5" of natural sag on my fully clipped track. Also put on Dupont hyfax with no visible wear after 1200 miles this season. Used to burn them out in 400 miles. I also use ear plugs and have used them for the past 25 years.
