Help with carbs etc on rx1 -03

It's not the coils that makes the tick -sound.
Guess what, Missfire is back. Tried to turn Air-screw 1/4 turn out today, so total is 2 1/4. Gonna try it out tomorrow.

The sled was in to my yamaha dealer today for sync. of the carbs.
The guys at the dealer said don't worry about the ticking, they said they have heard much more sound from other Rx1's and nothing wrong there.
I guess they didn't check the valve clearance on thoose though.
Still I did start a Rx1 -04 I think, that was parked outside and that machine also had lower ticking noise, but It was there.

Yamaha Dealer wanted $255 for valve clearance check, together with gaskets and anti-freeze. Sounds expensive (?) so I'm thinking about doing it by my self, if it's really important?

We messed around with one of our tons for better part of yesterday. It was popping on accel, and kind of running crappy. Must have pulled the carbs and caps of 34 times, fiddling with air screws, needles, cleaning jets. It would only run half decent if you held the choke on part way. Finally gave up, filled the tank, and went riding. The the sled ran great.

Moral to the story.....quit listening for every tick, burble, and pop....and ride. They seem to clean up after running them hard. And idling they make lots of weird noises. My clutch chatters a lot. Sound like they're coming apart. I've adjusted valves...it's a pain...and has not made any difference in how they run.

Hehe sounds great, but I'm not so worried about the poping etc, just curious about the valve ticking, just so nothing would break. Im scared of blowing engines, have sooome experience from that in 4 cyl turbo car :)
So you just think I should ride it?

How many miles was it on it, when you checked the valves? Did it become quieter afterwards?

;)!
