I'm in the process of installing Ulmers stage 1 kit, and it looks like I damaged the bushing on the primary cover. It has a chunk that looks like a flap of skin. The cover looks like it will go on a little cocked, but would most likely straighten out once fully screwed in. I thought I was taking off the 3 screws evenly but I guess not. Either that or I damaged it after the screws were off b/c I had to work the cover off. I assume this needs to be replaced? Does it spin around the shaft? What are the odds a dealer has that in stock? Looks like it is pressed on. Help.

Well The weights are in with no issues. I put the cover back on for now, but still waiting to see if that bushing should be replaced.
On to the secondary. Can't get the bolt off to save my life. Its almost like I'm going the wrong way. If I'm staring at the secondary, the bolt will loosen counter clockwise, correct?

The secondary just needed whole lotta elbow grease. Everything is done, but just not sure what to do about that bushing on the primary cover.
I think I know what happen with the primary cover. It looks like the washer on the bolt holding the primary on was cocked a little and thats why the cover was hard to come off.
What to do about that bushing? If the shaft does not spin around that bushing, does it really need to be replaced? Is it just there for the cover to have a snug fit? If so, its stll very snug.

If a small percentage of the bearing surface is damaged it should be fine for the remainder of the season. Inspect/replace in the offseason.
sd that bushing does not spin on the shaft but it slides as the primary opens and closes. Hope this helps!! I wouldn't worry about it until the end of the season like others have stated.sd5500 said:The secondary just needed whole lotta elbow grease.
